Overview

Isnapur is a slum area on the outskirts of Hyderabad in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. The population is over 20,000 and there were no medical facilities until, at the beginning of 2015, we conducted a one-day medical camp. With only 24 hours notice, over 300 families arrived for medical help.
As a result of a generous donation, we decided to launch a project to provide a medical centre which will provide free treatment for those who need it. Pastor Seemon has a church of 200 in Isnapur and he and his wife also regularly feed 30 orphan children, many of whom are from Dalit backgrounds. The photographs below show the medical camp and the completed centre. The ground floor houses the medical centre. middle floor accommodates the children’s work. The top floor provides a refectory, kitchen and some accommodation for Pastor Seemon and his family.

The total project cost including land, bore-well, construction and decoration is £80,000. The ongoing running costs are around £200 per month.
